چکیده

The performance of a reliability system can be improved by different methods, e.g. the reliability of one or more components can be improved, hot or cold redundant components can be added to the system. Sometimes these measures can be equivalent as they will have the same effect on some performance measure of the system. This paper discusses the reliability equivalences of a series-parallel system. The system considered here consists of m subsystems connected in parallel, with subsystem i consisting of ni independent and identical components in series for i=1, 2, ..., m. The failure rates of the system components are functions of time with a life distribution of Weibull distribution. Three different methods are used to improve the given system reliability. The reliability equivalence factor is obtained using the reliability function. The fractiles of the original and improved systems are also obtained. Numerical example is presented to interpret how to utilize the obtained results.

Analyzing System Reliability Using Fuzzy Weibull Lifetime Distribution

Investigation of reliability characteristics under fuzzy environments is proposed in this paper. Fuzzy Weibull distribution and lifetimes of components are using it described. Formulas of a fuzzy reliability function, fuzzy hazard function and their α-cut set are presented. Furthermore, the fuzzy functions of series systems and parallel systems are discussed, respectively. Finally, some num...

Hot duplication versus survivor equivalence in Gamma-Weibull distribution

The reliability of composite system (series, parallel) is improved by (i) reduction method, and by (ii) hot duplication, considering the systems survivor function. Related survivor equivalence functions and pointwise survivor equivalence factors are derived in all cases when the components lifetime distribution follow the gamma–Weibull distribution introduced recently by Leipnik and Pearce.

A New Continuous Multi-State Reliability Model with Time Dependent Component Performance Rate

A CSS1†is a system with the continues-state components. When a component has the ability to obtain all the situations from completely working to completely failed, it named continues-state component. In the real world, performance rate of elements are continuous and decrease by time. Continuity of components causes infinite working states and grows up the system states. In this paper we propose...

A fuzzy reliability model for series-parallel systems

Fuzzy set based methods have been proved to be effective in handling many types of uncertainties in different fields, including reliability engineering. This paper presents a new approach on fuzzy reliability, based on the use of beta type distribution as membership function. Considering experts' ideas and by asking operators linguistic variables, a rule base is designed to determine the level ...

Reliability Equivalence Factors of a Parallel System in Two-dimensional Distribution

Abstract This paper is devoted to obtain the two-dimensional reliability modeling equivalence factors of n independent and identical components parallel system. Bivariate Weibull model has been used by considering the failure behavior of components. We discuss two-dimensional failure modeling for a system where degradation is due to age and usage. Three different methods are used to improve the...
